DASF is always receptive to contact from the public concerning pets! We will try to assist if at all possible - within the limits of the foundation’s funding and resources. DASF is not a rescue group. We do not handle any pets.
Note: We do not operate the City of Denton Animal Shelter or have any involvement in its management. If you have any questions for the Linda McNatt Animal Care & Adoption Center or inquiries about shelter animals, please call 940-349-7594 or email animal.services@cityofdenton.com. In case of emergencies (seriously injured animals, etc.) please call 911.

Pet Food: DASF funds the Emergency Pet Food Pantry at the Denton Linda McNatt Animal Care & Adoption Center. Pet food is available by appointment; no questions asked. Please call the shelter DIRECTLY at 940-349-7594 to make an appointment to pick up pet food.

Spay/neuter Assistance: Low-cost spay, neuter, vaccine, and dental pet services are available at the TCAP (TX Coalition for Animal Protection) veterinary clinics (click here for locations). If you live in Denton County and cannot afford these services, you can email us for possible additional assistance.
FREE Rabies Vaccine Clinics: DASF sponsors free pet rabies shots at several annual vaccine clinics. Click here to view dates & locations.
Emergency Veterinary Expenses: We understand the high cost of emergency veterinary treatment and appreciate pet owners who want to provide every possible opportunity for their pets to recover. Unfortunately, DASF does not have the funding to help every Denton County pet owner who may need assistance. However, we do have other RESOURCES listed on our website for financial assistance.
At this time, DASF is unable to accept requests for emergency veterinary expenses due to lack of funding, except through our partner agencies such as Denton County Veterans Services, Our Daily Bread/Denton Homeless Shelter, and/or local veterinarian clinics.
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9am - 5pm. Responses may take up to 48 hours.
